A race between some of the fastest athletes on Earth has taken place – well, sort of.

While the men’s 100m final event at Paris 2024 was spectacular, it was nothing compared to the cross-sport event that pitted the most rapid stars against each other.

Kyiian Mbappe got off to an early lead in a simulated race between Usain Bolt and Tyreek Hill

In a video shared by MotionAthlete on Youtube. Usain Bolt, Tyreek Hill and Kylian Mbappe all took their places on the start line for the 100m event.

Bolt was dressed in his Jamaican sprint outfit, while Mbappe donned the French kit as he kicked a football down his lane.

Meanwhile NFL wide receiver Hill sported his Miami Dolphins kit – clutching a football as he sprinted on the track.

In news that will shock absolutely no one, it was legendary sprinter Bolt who came out on top after the race of his life.

The Jamaican sprinter is the fastest person ever to compete in the 100m and he certainly showed it here.

Holding the world record of 9.58 seconds in the event, Bolt was able to recreate his record-breaking run from 2009.

It may be 15 years later, but with the benefits of modern technology, the 38-year-old was able to run that time again to come away victorious.

Bolt will be delighted to get the win after his fictional victory over reigning Olympic gold medallist Noah Lyles was followed by a heavy defeat at the hands of an ostrich.

In second place was Miami Dolphins star Hill – known to be the fastest American Football player.

He even boasts the nickname ‘Cheetah’ as a result of his speed.

The Super Bowl LIV winner famously made his athletic start in track and field, winning a gold medal in the men’s 4x100m relay and a bronze in the men’s 200m at the 2012 World Junior Athletics Championship in Barcelona.

With a personal best time of 10.19 seconds, Hill put in a very impressive display and finished just 0.61 seconds behind sprinting GOAT Bolt.

Last, but certainly not least, was 2018 World Cup winner Mbappe.

The Real Madrid forward is renowned for being one of the most rapid stars in football and holds a personal best time of 10.90 seconds in the 100m event.

Given the pretty staggering competition – plus the fact that he was simultaneously kicking a football en route – the pacy 25-year-old finished third in the race and almost 1.5 seconds behind the race winner.

Mbappe will be disappointed with his last-place finish, but after joining Los Blancos, there’s no doubt that he’ll bag gold at some point in the not-too-distant future.
