Baker Mayfield’s family were forced out of their Florida home after Hurricane Helene hit hard.

The storm, which has now traveled to South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia, is the biggest to strike the Big Bend and has claimed at least 59 lives, per CNN.

Mayfield and his family were impacted by the deadly hurricane

Thousands of families have been affected and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Mayfield was among them.

The 29-year-old, wife Emily were forced to flee their home alongside young daughter Koko, and dog Fergus.

“I do not have words to accurately describe my heartbreak for everyone affected by Hurricane Helene,” Emily wrote on Instagram.

“You see this stuff on TV but until you live through it, you can’t fully grasp the terror associated with the unknowns. Baker, Koko, Fergus, and I evacuated yesterday and are safe.

“Our sweet, sweet community got pummeled, but even that doesn’t compare to the people up North who took this storm head-on.

“It’s unfathomable. I’m so thankful to God for protecting us – and our home – and I’m praying nonstop for everyone dealing with the aftermath of the storm, the surge, the damage, the loss.

“Time to come together and help each other out. I have faith in this community.”

The Mayfields moved to Florida in 2023 after Baker signed a one-year deal with the Buccanneers.

He enjoyed a stellar first season and agreed a three-year extension worth $100million over the offseason.

The Bucs started 2-0 but were dominated 26-7 by the Denver Broncos in Week 3.

Mayfield will look to return to form against the Philadelphia Eagles, with the game expected to go ahead as Helene moves away from the region.

The Glazer family, who own the Bucs, are donating $1million to help the Tampa Bay community in the wake of the disaster.

Carolina Panthers owners David and Nicole Tepper are giving $3million.

“The David & Nicole Tepper Foundation, Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC stand alongside all those who have been affected by Hurricane Helene and the devastation it has wrought across the southeast and particularly in our backyard throughout the Carolinas,” they said in a statement.

“This is our home, and we are committed to supporting relief efforts throughout the region by providing critical resources and aiding the efforts of our heroic first responders.

“The impact on our community has been severe, but Carolinians are resilient and courageous, and, together, we will rebuild and recover.”

The Panthers are hosting the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4.
