There is also a packed card of domestic action on what promises to be a cracking night of football.

We have a trio of selections, which make up our best bets of the day.

Bet of the day

Hull to beat QPR @ 17/10

It’s just one Championship victory for QPR in the opening seven second-tier games and the Hoops could be heading for more disappointment when Hull come to Loftus Road.

Jonathan Varane’s first-half red card can be partly blamed for 2-0 defeat at Blackburn on Saturday, but QPR went on to record only 35 per cent possession at Ewood Park and that looks far from ideal preparation on the short turnaround for Tuesday night’s clash.

Hull played their transfer cards late, but the Tigers have been seriously impressive when beating Stoke 3-1 and Cardiff 4-1 in their latest two Championship matches and Tim Walter’s men appear to have hit their stride.

The Tigers hit 18 shots against Cardiff last time out, 13 on their trip to Stoke and, at 17/10, look overpriced to win in Shepherd’s Bush.

Special of the day

Over 3.5 goals in Borussia Dortmund v Celtic @ 13/10

Borussia Dortmund have scored 18 goals in their opening seven matches of the season and Matchday 1 of the Champions League saw the German side win 3-0 at Club Brugge.

Celtic are a perfect nine wins from nine all-competition contests this season and the Bhoys are fresh from a 6-0 hammering of St Johnstone.

Clearly, that level of opposition is a mile away from what the Hoops will face at Dortmund and it’s unlikely that Brendan Rodgers’ defence will hold up.

That said, Celtic did hammer Slovan Bratislava 5-1 in their opening Champions League contest and the Bhoys do have the attacking players to cause Dortmund problems.

The hosts are likely to prove too good for Celtic, but backing over 3.5 goals in Dortmund looks the best special bet of the day.

Long shot of the day

Plymouth to beat Burnley @ 11/2

Burnley were among the favourites for promotion from the Championship this season, but the Clarets have won only two of their last six matches and Scott Parker’s side have struggled to find their form.

The Clarets were beaten by Wolves in the EFL Cup and lost at Sunderland in a second-tier contest.

Burnley were then held to draws by Oxford and Blackburn and the two matches that they have won in their last six contests were narrow single-goal margin successes.

Plymouth impressed when beating Luton 3-1 at Home Park on Friday night and, while more will be required at Turf Moor, it may not be as difficult a task as the prices suggest.
