Liverpool took their current winning streak to four games on Saturday evening as they won at Wolves to take the Merseyside club top of the Premier League table, where they lead both Manchester City and Aston Villa by a singular point.
Arne Slot has now won seven of his eight matches since taking over the managerial hotseat at Anfield from Jurgen Klopp, which includes a victory in his opening Champions League match for the club at the San Siro, coming from behind to beat AC Milan 2-1.
The six-time European champions will be looking to make it back to back wins over Italian sides to start their Champions League campaign, and with their following three games coming against Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid, two wins from two looks imperative.

Bologna make the trip to Anfield on Wednesday night to compete in their first away game in the Champions League in 60 years after being the surprise package in Serie A last season, securing a fifth placed finish, their highest in the league since 1971.
Unfortunately for the Italian side, their manager last season, Thiago Motta, has since left and joined Juventus, and their replacement manager Vincenzo Italiano hasn’t quite hit the ground running in the same way his opposing manager has in the Anfield dugout.
The Rossoblu have won just one of their seven matches in all competitions, but on the flip side have also lost just one game so far this season, drawing the other five.
Bologna currently sit 13th in the Serie A table following their 1-1 draw with reigning Europa League champions Atalanta on Saturday night which left them with seven points from their six matches in the league so far.
The Italian side kicked off their first Champions League campaign since the 1964-65 season with a 0-0 draw at home against Shakhtar Donetsk a fortnight ago, and will be looking for their first away win of the season against Liverpool on Wednesday night.
Wednesday’s match will be the first meeting between the two sides.
