UPDF 1-0 Wakiso Giants

KCCA moved top of the log after a hard fought but deserved win over Soltilo Bright Stars at Kavumba on Tuesday.

Derrick Nsibambi scored the winner in the 29th minute which the Kasasiro held on to as they leapfrogged NEC.

The striker got at the end of a brilliant pass from Said Mayanja to slot past Derrick Were aided by a slight deflection from Warren Bbule.

Nsibambi who got his second goal in as many games also shockingly missed target before the break after rounding off the goalkeeper in a tight angle.

He was withdrawn at halftime after getting a knock with his replacement Emmanuel Amanya missing a few good chances to kill off the game.

Second half substitute Ibrahim Juma also saw his weak shot tamed by the goalie while defender Hassan Mohamoud was denied by the cross bar.

At the other end, Mutwalibi Mugolofa made a good save to deny Shafik Kakande while Man of the match Musitafa Mujjuzi was a man mountain at the back when the Stars mounted late pressure.

KCCA are now on 10 points, one better than second placed NEC who play their fourth league match against Express on Thursday.

Elsewhere, UPDF stopped Steven Bengo’s Wakiso Giants with a 1-0 defeat at Bombo.

Both teams are now tied on 7 points as we head into the international break.
