Endrick has broken Raul’s 29-year record to become Real Madrid’s youngest player to start a Champions League tie.
The Brazilian teenager was named in Carlo Ancelotti’s line-up away at Lille on Wednesday night at the age of 18 years and 73 days.

In doing so, the forward has broken the previous record, which was held by club legend Raul.
The iconic Spanish striker was 18 years and 77 days old when he started against Ajax in September 1995.
Big things are expected of Endrick, who finally linked up with Real in the summer after they triggered his £51million release clause at Brazilian club Palmeiras in December 2022.
Prior to Endrick’s start against Lille, he had come off the bench in eight previous games, with Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo preferred ahead up top.
But he has impressed from his cameos, getting two goals and one assist.
He marked his Champions League debut with a goal in the opening round of fixtures in the revamped competition.
Just minutes after coming on against Stuttgart at the Bernabeu a fortnight ago, he found the back of the net with a low fizzing strike to seal a 3-1 victory.
