SC Villa striker Francis Onekalit is the latest player of Ugandan descent to called by South Sudan’s national team.
The big centre forward has been summoned for the forthcoming back-to-back Afcon 2025 qualifiers fixture against Uganda Cranes.
Coach Nichola Dupuis named a 26-man squad including over ten players who have Ugandan origins including Rashid Toha, Geriga Atendele, Rashid Okocha, Emmanuel Loki, Gadafi Wahab, Tito Okello, Francis Onekalit and Alfred Leku.

South Sudan will visit Uganda at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Friday, October 11, before hosting the Cranes in Juba Stadium on Tuesday, October 15 in group K.
Uganda still lead the table with four points, same as South Africa, but the Cranes have a superior +1 goal difference over Bafana Bafana. Congo is third with three points and South Sudan last of the four teams, with no single point in three games.
