Ivan Sekazza’s football career as a player is officially over after two decades.

Sekazza will best be remembered for the sweet left foot, tireless attitude, exceptional discipline and humble persona.

“I have officially retired from active playing. I thank football for the good deeds to me and the friends I have had over the years” Sekazza disclosed to Kawowo Sports.

He is the last born to Charles Sserunkuma and Alice Naluwagga, born on 28th September 2005 at Mulago Hospital, Kampala.

Sekazza went to Kawempe Mbogo Primary School and St Anne Primary school Mityana for his elementary education.

Sekazza started his football career in primary school at Kayofa football academy (Kawempe).

He then transferred to Villa Jogoo before he was scouted by Aspire Academy Qatar where he spent six years.

Upon return from Qatar, he joined Express Football Club, Western Stima (Kenya), ⁠Ahly Shendi (Sudan), Mwadui (Tanzania), AFC Leopards (Kenya), ⁠Debud Police (Ethiopia) and lately ⁠Onduparaka (Uganda).

Retirement decision:

Sekazza’s decision to retire officially from football was long thought of and painful as he boldly testifies.

“It was a hard decision (to announce retirement).” He confessed. “Many of many people were telling me that I should not give up this time but to me personally, I have decided to make it” Sekazza added.

Way forward:

Sekazza has already planned for life after retirement with his own Vans Pro Academy as well as a scout and players’ agency tagged as the 91-sports management.
