Simba, Young Africans handed tough Caf Interclub Group stages opponents

East African giants Young Africans and Simba SC have been given tough groups in the Caf Interclub group stages for the 2024/25 season.

Young Africans who will play in the group stages of the Caf Champions League are in Group A with five-time champions TP Mazembe, Sudan’s Al Hilal SC and Algeria’s MC Alger.

In group B, South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, home to ex-Uganda Cranes captain Denis Onyango will face Raja Casablanca of Morocco, DR Congo’s debutants AS Maniema and ASFAR.

Record holders and defending champions Al Ahly are in Group C with CR Belouizdad of Algeria, South Africa’s Orlando Pirates and Stade de Abidjan of Cote d’Ivoire.

In Group D, Esperance of Tunisia, Pyramids of Egypt, Angola’s Sagrada Esperanca and Djoliba of Mali.

Caf Confederation Cup

In the second tier of the interclub competition, Simba will play CS Sfaxien (Tunisia), CS Constantine (Algeria) and FC Bravos Do Maquis.

Defending champions Zamalek face fellow Egyptians Al Masry, Enyimba and Black Bulls in group D.

Group B has RS Berkane, Stade Malien, Stellenbosch and CD-Lunda-Bul while group C has USM Alger, ASEC Mimosas, ASC Jaraaf and Orapa United.
