AMAZON has some seriously tasty deals on protein bars in its Prime Big Deal Days sale.

The Grenade chocolate chip salted caramel high protein bars are a mouth-wateringly decadent treat that happens to be healthy – and now they’re reduced by almost half price.

Amazon’s price reduction means each bar is a bargain £1.41

Grenade chocolate chip salted caramel protein bars, 12-pack, £16.99 (was £30.99)

A 12-pack of this high-protein post-workout (or mid-afternoon slump) pick-me-up is £16.99, which is a record-low price.

And it’s not just the chocolate chip salted caramel flavour that’s a bargain, there are savings on the birthday cake, Oreo white and peanut butter and jelly flavours,

I normally buy protein bars in bulk, otherwise, they can cost around £3 a pop, but this deal works out at £1.41 per bar.

And for that price, you’re getting 20g of protein in a seriously yummy package that can best be described as an assault on the senses.

I find the chocolate chip salted caramel bars a joy to eat with crunchy cookie pieces dotted throughout a smooth nougat.

Then there’s a top layer of caramel, which has a slightly salted flavour so it isn’t too sweet.

If you’d rather eat your protein than drink it, or you don’t fancy carrying around a large protein shake bottle, a Grenade protein bar tucked in your bag or pocket is ideal for a protein boost to help your muscles recover post-workout.

But I’ve also found that they’re an excellent mid-afternoon snack, partly because each bar has less than 1g of added sugar, so they don’t cause sugar spikes and dips.

Protein also takes longer to digest than carbohydrates, so reaching for this over your typical vending machine confectionery choice will help keep you going until dinner time.

Thousands of Amazon shoppers echo my love for these Grenade bars.

“The flavour is rich and satisfying, with a great chocolate taste that makes it feel like a treat”, explains one shopper who described the bars as “perfect for the gym”.

“I love grenade bars, they are the nicest protein bars on the market and don’t taste chalky at all”, another added fan.

A third Amazon shopper concluded: ‘These are my go-to healthy alternative whenever I have a craving for chocolate.

“In terms of taste and texture, they always remind me of Curly Wurly, but in a chunkier form.”
