Wrexham are no stranger to glitz and glamour, but surely signing Cristiano Ronaldo is a step too far?
Well, not according to William Gallas who believes that the move is ‘possible’.
Ronaldo couldn’t possibly join Wrexham, could he?Getty
Ronaldo is currently playing in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr where he’s currently in the final year of his contract.
On paper, a move to Wrexham makes no sense whatsoever with the Welsh side currently playing in the third-tier of English football, but with Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in charge anything is possible.
Wrexham are currently top of League One after securing back-to-back promotions to jump up the football pyramid.
With that in mind, it’s not impossible that the stars of ‘Welcome To Wrexham’ could be in the Premier League before long, leading Gallas to state that he wouldn’t be surprised if a move came off.
Speaking to Prime Casino about the prospect of Ronaldo to Wrexham, Gallas said: “Anything is possible in football in the modern game.
“It wouldn’t surprise me, because money talks and we’ve seen that nothing impossible these days.
“Footballers and football clubs are now obsessed with their brands too and their sponsors. You can make a lot of money, and not just from your wages at your club.
“Now, everything is about social media and having millions of followers. Both Wrexham and Cristiano Ronaldo have huge profiles, so why not?
“Cristiano Ronaldo is more than just a footballer. He’s a product, and he’s also still scoring so many goals on the pitch.
“There will be so many clubs still happy to have him.”

Wrexham’s Hollywood owners certainly aren’t lacking in ambitionGetty
It comes after one YouTube user, ASP_FC, added both Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to Wrexham’s team in FC 24 to see if the club would stay in the Premier League.
Between the two of them, they amazingly managed to keep the Welsh side in the top flight by way of goal difference, while also spearheading Wrexham’s journey to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Unfortunately, despite Gallas’ comments, a move to Wales seems unlikely with Ronaldo previously stating that he expects to retire in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking in August, he said: “I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years, but probably I will retire here at Al Nassr.”
