Tyson Fury insisted the ‘GK steam train’ is coming for Oleksandr Usyk as he excitingly awaits their heavyweight rematch.
‘The Gypsy King’ was handed the first defeat of his professional career by his Ukrainian opponent in May in their undisputed title fight.
It’s just ten weeks until Fury and Usyk return to the ring for chapter twoAFP
Usyk won via split decision after pummelling Fury in the ninth round to claim the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO titles.
A rematch looked set to take place in October or November but December 21 was soon confirmed as the date for their second bout.
That means it’s exactly ten weeks to the day until Fury meets Usyk in the ring again, and he’s certainly got revenge in his sights.
Taking to a video on Instagram whilst running, he told his fans: “Well guys, it’s officially ten weeks today until I get my revenge on Usyk.
“Ten weeks, it’s all I’ve got to wait, ten more weeks. I’m coming, the GK steam train is coming.”
Should Fury come out on top against Usyk in December, there could be eager calls from fans for what would be a legendary trilogy fight.
It’s a prospect that Usyk’s manager Alex Krassyuk has refused to rule out as he told talkSPORT in May: “Why not?
“Boxing has had this in the past. If the people want to see this for a third time or a fourth time, it may well happen.
“Boxing is all about the desire of the fans, and Turki Alalshikh is the man that is currently making their dreams come true.”
The upcoming fight on December 21 will not be an undisputed clash as Usyk vacated his IBF belt, which Daniel Dubois defended with victory over Anthony Joshua last month.

The heavyweight duo are set to end 2024 with a bangGETTY
However, it offers Fury the chance of redemption in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which could lead to a third chapter in their rivalry.
Boxing’s heavyweight giants won’t be the only eye-catching clash of the event thanks to a stacked five-fight undercard.
Isaac Lowe and Lee McGregor will stage a featherweight fight, with Dennis McCann hoping to defend his European super bantamweight title against Peter McGrail.
Brits Johnny Fisher and Dave Allen will meet in a heavyweight bout, as will Moses Itauma and Demsey McKean.
A super welterweight fight between Serhii Bohachuk and Israil Madrimov will come as another excellent encounter before Fury and Usyk take to the main event.
