Gaddafi Football Club (under new management of Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation) recorded their first victory of the 2024-2025 FUFA Big League on Sunday, 13th October 2024.

Christened as “The Printers”, Gaddafi edged Kigezi Home Boyz 1-0 at the Works playground in Entebbe.

Yasin Mugume scored the all-important goal on the sunny afternoon in the 18th minute.

Mugume beat goalkeeper James Tukei from close range after Dan Kazibwe’s donkey work on the left flank.

Gaddafi would have extended their lead but Frank Kalanda was denied inside the goal area mid-way the first half.

Joel Male limped out for Duncan Ssemakula at the right flank as the opening half climaxed.

In the second half, the visitors (Kigezi Home Boyz) pushed numbers upfront which impacted some pressure to the Gaddafi back three of veteran defender Savio Kabugo, Ahmed Amayo and the hard-working Brian Enzama.

Derrick Mudali, Elia Assimwe and Moses Charles Waibi were all impressive but Gaddafi goalkeeper Muhammed Ssekeba, a former player at Mbarara City was equal to the task with pin point saves.

Gaddafi held onto the slim to record maximum points which took them to four points as they ascended to the summit of the table standings.

KIgezi Home Boyz forward Derrick Mudali and Gaddafi defender Brian Enzama

In their opening game, Gaddafi earned a point on the road during the 1-all draw with Kaaro Karungi in Ntungamo.

On the other hand, Kigezi Home Boyz registered a 2-0 home won over Ntugasaze at the Kabale Municipal stadium.

This was a great performance at home. The match was tough but we were prepared to fight on. I thank the players, my fellow technical team, management and the fans. Attention now switches to our next game against Kiyinda Boys.

At the Kyabazinga stadium in Bugembe – Jinja, Busoga United played to a 1-all draw with Kaaro Karungi.

Ntugasaze humbled visiting Kiyinda Boys 3-0 at the Ssaza ground, Mityana.

The game between MYDA and Calvary ended in yet another stalemate at the Kongunga primary school, Bukedea.

Saturday witnessed two matches; Booma overcame visiting Blacks Power 1-0 at the Masindi stadium with John Wesley Kisakye on the quarter hour mark.

Buhimba United Saints overcame Onduparaka 2-0 at the Kigaaya primary school playground in Hoima.

Second half subsistute Lucas “Mane” Mola scored a brace for Buhimba United Saints.
