Manchester United goalkeeper is already looking ahead targeting Afcon trophy with Cameroon in Morocco after sealing qualification.
The Indomitable Lions overcame Kenya 1-0 at Mandela National stadium, Namboole on Monday to move to 10 points.
Onana, who kept another clean sheet at Namboole, his second in as many matches at the Ugandan national stadium revealed how happy he is for both the result and performance.
“Happy for the victory. We show we are a big team and I am happy for the result and way we play,” the Man United goalkeeper told reporters before revealing next target.
“Playing for the Cameroon national team is a big honour. Playing for this badge is something amazing and so am very confident that we can go on and win the title in Morocco next year.”
The Man United star also had kind words for Ugandan fans who welcomed him warmly over the two matches he has been here and promised to return for holidays at the end of the Premiership in May next year.
“It is amazing,” he replied when asked about the warm welcome. “I want to thank the Uganda fans for the warm welcome I receive last time and even today.
“Hopefully, in the summer, I will be back for holidays and we have more time together and do something nice.”
Onana will be in goal for Erik Ten Hag’s side on Saturday against Brentford a team which is home for his compatriot Bryan Mbeumo who was also at Namboole.
