But the leading scorer in basketball history and best current quarterback in football united on Monday Night Football, thanks to a 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers.

“Why is Aaron so good at that,” tweeted Mahomes, followed by three laughing emojis.

“Right!! It’s ridiculous!” James replied.

Their tweets both were both sent at 9:43 p.m. ET, bringing two of the biggest sports stars in the world together.

Fans loved seeing Mahomes and James unite on social media.

“GOAT on GOAT convo,” a fan wrote.

“Legoat and Magoat,” a second fan posted.

“I know, right guys?” a third fan said. “Let’s hang out sometime. Us three and some 2k.”

“BOTH MY GOATS TALKING TO EACH OTHER I LOVE YOU,” a fourth fan tweeted.

Showtime Mahomes and The King of the NBA were in awe of Rodgers’ 52-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass to Allen Lazard as time expired in the first half.

Rodgers’ TD throw pulled New York within 20-17 and immediately went viral on social media.

“He’s a legend at the jump ball Hail Mary,” a fan tweeted.

But it didn’t end with a miracle for the Jets on MNF, as they fell 23-20 at home to the Buffalo Bills.

Rodgers completed 23-of-35 passes for 294 yards, two TDs and a 99 rating.

Yet he threw an interception in the closing minutes, while New York fell to a disappointing 2-4.

The Jets answered a loss in London last week by firing head coach Robert Saleh and demoting Nathaniel Hackett.

Rodgers’ Hail Mary completion was the play of the night on Monday, and Rodgers ultimately felt short – for a third successive week – on what what have been a gamewinning drive as Mike Williams slipped and allowed the Bills to recover the ball.

But he was visibly bitter after the defeat and could soon be fined by the NFL.

“It seemed a little ridiculous,” Rodgers said. “Some of (the penalties) seemed really bad.”

He even took up for the Bills, asserting that a flag on Buffalo wasn’t necessary.

“Including roughing the passer on me — that’s not roughing the passer,” Rodgers said. “Might as well play Sarcastaball if we’re gonna call those things.”

“Imagine he gets fined for saying a penalty on him wasn’t a penalty,” a fan tweeted.

“National Flag League,” a second fan wrote.

In the end, Josh Allen and the Bills improved to 4-2 to maintain first place in the AFC East.

Rodgers threw it back to his best days with a Hail Mary that drew praise from Mahomes and James.

But ultimately one of the best QBs in NFL history awas left sounding bitter after another Jets defeat.
