Jake Paul will be making his MMA debut very soon after fighting Mike Tyson.

Social media influencer turned professional boxer Paul takes on the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ next month in their much anticipated heavyweight bout.

The pair were originally scheduled to fight on July 20 but it was postponed due to the 58-year-old being unable to train after a ulcer flare up.

But far before any announcements were made regarding the controversial eight-round bout, Paul had already decided what his next combat sports endeavour would be.

The PFL announced in January 2023 that they had signed an exclusive deal with the 27-year-old and made him the first fighter in a new pay-per-view division.

Paul co-created the PFL Super Fights division in which fighters will earn 50% revenue from their PPV bouts.

Francis Ngannou makes his return to MMA this weekend under the PFL banner as he looks to dethrone Renan Ferreira of his heavyweight championship.

Paul was heavily involved in the marketing for the fight deemed the ‘Battle of the Giants’, which is the PFL’s first fight in the ‘Super’ division.

Speaking ahead of Ngannou’s MMA return, PFL CEO Peter Murray told Mirror Fighting when Paul will make his debut with the organisation.

“I’m not sure if it’s going to be his very next fight in combat sports but he will debut in 2025,” Murray said.

“Look what Jake [Paul] has proved in boxing; he’s an incredible athlete, he’s a pro boxer and he’s taken on some legit opponents and he has blazed his own trail.

“He’s going to do it the same way in MMA; he’s all about being an advocate for athletes and blazing new trails, so he’s absolutely going to take on MMA and be as focused and dedicated as he is to boxing.”

Paul holds a professional boxing record of 10 wins and one defeat, since making his debut against fellow YouTube star AnEsonGib.

In February 2023, he lost his first professional fight to Tommy Fury by split decision in Saudi Arabia.

Rumours have it that Paul wants to exact revenge on the brother of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury before he begins his MMA career.

“I believe [they could fight in PFL]; we’ll see,” Murray added. “There’s a list and it keeps growing, that’s what’s exciting about it.”

“There are a number of fighters who would like to be part of that debut, so we will be talking to Jake after the Tyson fight.”

The PFL’s ‘Battle of the Giants’ card this weekend also sees Cris Cyborg, who is renowned as one of the best female MMA fighters of all time, defend her women’s featherweight belt against Larissa Pacheco.

Meanwhile Fabian Edwards, brother of former UFC champion Leon Edwards, challenges the undefeated Johnny Eblen for his middleweight title.

The pair have already faced in the octagon before with Eblen winning the bout after Edwards suffered a bad cut.
