Sadick Sempigi has been sacked as Lugazi FC head coach after a false start to life in the premier league.
The ex-Mbarara City and Jinja North gaffer leaves the ‘Leaders’ bottom of the log with two points after five games including a draw with fellow newcomers Mbale Heroes attained early this week.
“Lugazi FC and Head coach Sadick Sempigi have mutually agreed to part ways,” a statement on the club website partially read.
“We would like to express our gratitude to Sempigi for his tireless efforts and services during the time we have been together and wish him all the very best in his future coaching endeavors.”
Oliver Mbekeka, assistant coach – Lugazi Football Club
For the meantime, his assistant Oliver Mbekeka will take charge of the team on interim basis with an imminent announcement of a permanent in the near future.
“Coach Mbekeka Oliver now takes charge of the team.
“The Club will be making no further comment until such time when the new head coach is appointed.”
Lugazi’s next game is a trip to Hamz stadium, Nakivubo where seven-time champions Express FC are lurking.
Sempigi is officially second coach in the premier league so far to lose his job after Richard Malinga who voluntarily resigned at Mbale Heroes citing interference into his work.
