Troy Aikman has thoughts on his former team and he isn’t holding back.
The Dallas Cowboys have been on a roller coaster to begin the season and the Hall of Fame quarterback seems to have had enough.

Dallas seemed to have hit rock bottom last week, getting blown out at home by the Detroit Lions, 47-9, to fall to 3-3 on the season.
Aikman doesn’t seem to like the effort he is seeing out of his former team, specifically with the wide receivers.
Appearing on 96.7 The Ticket this week, Aikman let it rip.
“I think the routes are terrible,” Aikman said.
“I think they run terrible routes. And I’ve thought that beyond this year. I think CeeDee (Lamb) has got to improve in his route running.
“As a quarterback, if you’re not certain where guys are going to be consistently, it’s hard to play the position. That’s what I see. I see guys lazy coming off the line of scrimmage.
“Sometimes they run, usually if they do, it’s because they’re anticipating they’re going to get the football on that play, but if they’re not, they don’t.
“And it all ties together. I’m not impressed with that part of it.
Lamb signed a four-year, $136 million contract extension in August and is now being called out by a franchise legend just six weeks into the season.

Lamb has 32 receptions for 467 yards and two touchdowns.
Not terrible, but nowhere near the expectations everyone has for Lamb, including Lamb himself, especially after the historic contract extension he was given.
Aikman noted how much different the receivers look on contending teams, compared to Dallas’ receivers.
“I just finished watching the Baltimore Ravens because I have them this week,” Aikman said.
“You put on film of theirs and watch their receivers run routes and they come off the football, so does San Francisco’s and Green Bay’s and others.”
Aikman made it clear that the offense’s struggles shouldn’t fall on starting quarterback Dak Prescott,
“It’s hard to play the (QB) position if you’re not certain how guys are going to run routes or where they’re going to be.
“And I’m not speaking for Dak (Prescott). Dak may say, ‘Hey, I think (their routes) are amazing.’ But as a former quarterback watching it, it’s gotta get a lot better.”
If anyone knows what it’s like to play quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, it’s the man who won them three Super Bowls.
Calling Monday Night Football on ESPN, Aikman gets a chance to see and call pretty much everything.
And as of now, he isn’t impressed by what’s coming out of the Big D.
