Aston Villa vs Bologna prediction
Villa have started their return to the Champions League in the best way with two wins, no goals conceded and a much-needed six points.
The new format means that each point is vital as they all play eight games against a variety of opponents before the play-offs and knockouts start.
Meaning that from 36 teams only eight are guaranteed a place in the knockouts as another 16 teams face-off in the play-offs with the stakes much higher.
Being in the top eight could even come down to goal difference and Aston Villa have given themselves a huge chance given their start, especially winning 1-0 over Bayern.
Bologna on the other hand, have drawn and then lost one so far, failing to score in each after drawing 0-0 to Shakhtar Donetsk and then losing 2-0 at Anfield against Liverpool.
Villa can’t be ruled out given their home form and their general ability this season to really compete at this level.
Aston Villa vs Bologna betting tips
It’s not just Ollie Watkins that’s forced to come up with the goals this season as Jhon Duran has been a catalyst off the bench scoring all important goals to really compliment Watkins who starts most often.
Morgan Rogers has come up with two goals in the Premier League already too and that adds to their ability with many players getting goals and goal contributions.
Duran has scored four in the Premier League in just eight substitute appearances and also scored one in two appearances in this competition.
Watkins has five in the Premier League from eight appearances but has yet to add to his tally in the season in the UCL, though he has notched an assist.
Bologna look in trouble in the Champions League along with Serie A having started poorly.
They sit 13th with just one win and as many as six draws, but have only lost once.
Villa are a great scoring side and can certainly capitalise and make more of a statement in Europe on Tuesday night in this clash.
