Tottenham successfully got back to winning ways on the weekend with a thumping 4-1 win over West Ham in a London derby on Saturday lunchtime, putting memories of their disappointing 3-2 defeat to Brighton before the international break behind them.
The defeat at the Amex had ended a five match winning streak to cancel out their slow start to the season which saw just one win from their opening four matches, but Saturday’s win saw Spurs continue their climb up the table, where they now sit seventh, just four points off the top four.
Ange Postecoglou’s side are one of just five to have won both of their opening Europa League clashes, following up a 3-0 home win over Qarabag with a 2-1 win in Budapest over Ferencvaros, and will be hoping to continue their 100% record with victory on Thursday.

The north London side head into Thursday’s match with AZ Alkmaar with six wins from their last seven games, a big contrast from the Dutch side have fallen to defeat in each of their last four, despite having won six of their previous seven.
Maarten Martens’ side hit the ground running at the start of the season, earning 16 points from a possible 18 in their first six matches, have three Eredivisie defeats in a row now leaves them fourth in the table and 11 points behind PSV, whose win over AZ on Saturday maintained their 100% start to the campaign.
Nicknamed, ‘the Cheese Farmers’, the Alkmaar side kicked off their European campaign this season with a come-from-behind win over Swedish side Elfsborg to earn a 3-2 win, which preceded a 2-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao in Spain three weeks ago.
The two sides have never met before but Postecoglou has managed against AZ during his time at Celtic, winning 2-0 at home and losing 2-1 away as his side progress in the Europa League’s second qualifying round three years ago.
