Steph Curry has achieved everything there is to achieve in the National Basketball Association.

There is nothing left for the greatest shooter of all-time to accomplish, yet he shared the reason, the only reason, why he is still going as hard as ever in his 16th season.

And just like with every great competitor, it’s about winning, it’s about championships.

Nothing else matters.

And that is where the four-time champion stands.

Appearing on Sirius XM with Rob Perez, Curry sat down and shared what’s keeping him still in the game.

“I truly believe we can be championship relevant,” Curry said.

“We’re probably not going to the favourite in any conversation, but we have a team that is capable of achieving that level again, knowing all that we’ve been through over the last 13 years and those four trophies over there.

“To add to that would be amazing. I think it’s realistic to build towards that.

“For me, that’s literally the only thing I’m playing for.”

The greatest player in franchise history made it clear.

He wants that fifth ring.

After climbing to the top of the mountain in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022, Curry wants one more crack at it after a couple of down years.

Especially coming off a 46-36 season last year, missing out on the playoffs entirely.

Curry and the Warriors are heading into the season with a chip on their shoulder.

Except this time, he will have to do it without his Splash Brother by his side.

Klay Thompson left Golden State in free agency to join Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on a three-year, $50 million contract.

Curry will still have longtime running mate, Draymond Green by his side, along with Andrew Wiggins and of course head coach Steve Kerr, but it still won’t feel exactly the same without Thompson.

It’s going to take a little bit of getting used to, that’s for sure.

Curry is currently tied with LeBron James with four championships, and trails Michael Jordan by two.

Winning a fifth title, especially with this team, would vault Curry’s legacy comfortably in the upper echelon of all-time players, if he isn’t already there.

Bringing home a fifth championship to the Bay won’t be easy, but for Curry, that’s all that matters.
