Maroons 1-1 SC Villa

UPDF 0-0 URA

For the third time in a row, SC Villa threw away a lead as they dropped more points in the 1-1 draw with Maroons at Luzira Prisons Grounds on Thursday.

David Owori gave the champions a deserved lead from a sumptuous free kick inside eight minute when he curled the ball over the wall and beyond Simon Tamale in Maroons goal.

However, the Jogoos failed to hold on to the lead succumbing to an equaliser by Jackson Nunda in the 76th minute.

The result increases pressure on coach Morley Byekwaso who has now overseen three consecutive matches without a win despite taking leads in all.

The defending champions remain winless away from home and in total, have only collected 8 points out of a possible 18 leaving them four points adrift of the summit despite playing one more game than leaders NEC.

Maroons remain 11th on the log with 6 points from as many matches and will hope to improve their tally in the next game when they visit KCCA at Lugogo on November 2.

Villa’s next league outings will be a clash against army side UPDF who held visitors URA at Bombo in the other league match played on Thursday.

The premier league match day six continues on Friday with Police visiting Vipers while BUL are away to Kitara in an early kick off.
