It’s no secret that the Las Vegas Raiders are going to be in the market for a quarterback when the season ends.

And their star pass rusher has a few names who he thinks are going to go early in next year’s draft.

As it stands the lowly 2-5 Raiders – who face AFC West rivals the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday – will likely find themselves in position to draft a quarterback of the future.

Maxx Crosby has already used his podcast, The Rush, to reassure Raiders fans he has no plans to leave despite fans of other teams ‘blowing up his phone’ ahead of the trade deadlin.

But a look at what might be to come for Las Vegas at next April’s NFL Draft was also on his agenda, with a couple of names in particular lighting up the college football season.

When asked about Miami’s quarterback, Cam Ward, Crosby had one word to describe him: “Diffy,” he said.

“He’s diffy. He might go number one.”

Crosby was also quick to mention, Shedeur Sanders, who he is very close with, as another quarterback that could be taken first overall.

“It’s between him and Shedeur 100%. Those two are the two coldest ones.”

Crosby even extended an invite to the two quarterbacks to come on the show once the season ends.

“We need to have them, after the season, get on our show and bid for why they should be the first quarterback taken,” Crosby said.

“I want that to happen on The Rush, we will make that happen. I’m speaking into existence. I feel like it’d be golden.”

After Crosby sent out his invitation, he let it slip that he’d like to see one of them in the silver and black next year.

“Hopefully one of them…I don’t know one of them might be my quarterback,” Crosby said.

“So I can’t fully bully them, but in practice, you know what time it is.

“If you come to the Raiders you will be hit as a quarterback in practice. F*** your red jersey.

“It’s all love, I will not hurt you, I’ll just let you feel it.”

Raiders fans would love to see either Ward or Sanders in a Raiders jersey, with Crosby giving them fits at practice, that much is certain.

Crosby didn’t exactly reveal any hidden secrets or deliver breaking news.

The Raiders need a quarterback. And they have for a while now.

No offense to Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell.

The Raiders plans for a quarterback are likely to involve seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady, who has joined the team’s ownership group after his 5% share was given the green light at October’s owners meeting.

While Brady’s move means he cannot play, owner Mark Davis admitted that helped the team find an answer at quarterback was likely to be top of his to-do list.

And Brady has a close relationship with Sanders having worked out with the player in 2020.

“Although Tom can’t play, he can help us select a quarterback of the future and potentially trade him as well,” Davis said.

“So it’s a huge benefit having him in the organization.”

The All-Pro defensive end doubled down on his commitment to the Raiders earlier this week, he isn’t going anywhere.

He doesn’t want to go anywhere. All Crosby wants, it appears, is a quarterback.
