Inter vs Juventus predictions

For many years Juventus were the big fish in the Serie A pond. But in recent times, the roles have switched and it’s Inter who now rule the roost in Italy.

Inter Milan will start the match as odds-on favourites. That’s understandable. They are the current Serie A champions and also the odds-on favourites to win the Scudetto again this season.

Juve’s period of domination ended with a Scudetto win in the 2019/20 season. Since that title, Inter has won Serie A twice, first in 2020/21, and again last season.

After a slow start to the current season, Inter have now finally got going. Three successive Serie A wins have seen Simone Inzaghi’s team rise to second in the table on 17 points, two behind leaders Napoli.

In all competitions, Inter has now won five in a row. The winning streak began after they lost 2-1 to Milan in the city derby on September 22nd.

In their most recent outing, Inzaghi’s much changed team won 1-0 away at Young Boys in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Marko Arnautović and Mehdi Taremi started up front in Bern. Expect them to both make way for the in-form Marcus Thurman and Lautaro Martinez on Sunday. Federico Dimarco is also set to return to the starting line up after being rotated to the bench in Switzerland.

Juventus are rebuilding. They have moved on from the second Max Allegri era and are now coached by former Inter midfielder Thiago Motta.

While the coach may have changed, Juve’s mantra still looks the same. Under Motta, Juventus has only conceded one goal in eight Serie A games. Up front, the Old Lady has scored just eleven.

Despite the small returns, Juventus sit third in Serie A, three points off the top and one behind second-placed Inter.

Clean sheets seem to be the starting point under Motta. It’s what the club’s success has been built on in recent years. But football has changed, and you do have to wonder if Juve is going to have to evolve if they are to get back to the top of Italian football any time soon.

Nevertheless, the Old Lady’s form this season has led to talk they are again contenders to win Serie A. And while we’re not totally convinced by that just yet, a win over Inter at the San Siro could go a long way to changing our minds.

Juventus will be missing Douglas Luiz, Teun Koopmeiners and Nico Gonzalez. Apart from that, Thiago Motta’s team are at full strength with Kenan Yildiz and Francisco Conceicao set to play behind Dusan Vlahovic in an exciting front three.

Inter vs Juventus betting tips

This won’t be a goal fest. Juventus are set to try and stop Inter from playing. They are away from home and the Old Lady will happily take a point home to Turin.

Stopping Marcus Thurman and Lautaro Martinez is a different story. It won’t be easy. If anybody can, Juve can. But we believe one of them will find a way to win the game for the home team. Check out our Inter v Juve betting tips below:

Inter to win

Inter is in good form and they also have home advantage.

Simone Inzaghi’s team have won five on the spin in all competitions and look like they are now starting to put a run together.

We don’t see Juve trying to win this game, we feel they will sit back and try to stifle Inter.

But Inter has had to deal with these tactics before. They know how to break teams down and in Marcus Thurman and Lautaro Martinez, they have two of the best strikers in the league to get the job done.

This has the look of 1-0 or 2-0 to Inter.

No BTTS

Under 2.5 goals is 4.6, so we believe backing no in both teams to score at 8/11 is better value.

We don’t see Juvenus posing much of a threat going forward. The facts are they’ve only scored eleven Serie A goals this season.

They haven’t represented a goal scoring threat against anybody else in Serie A, so they’re hardly likely to start away to Inter Milan.

And don’t forget, Juve are unbeaten in Serie A this season. They are the only team to have still not tasted league defeat. They will want to preserve that record.

Chances will be at a premium. So both teams to score looks like a no.

Card to be awarded in what will happen first market

For anybody not familiar with this market, it is a bet on which outcome will happen first.

The three choices to happen first are a card being awarded, a goal scored, or neither happening.

A card to be awarded before a goal is scored is 7/10. A goal coming before a card is awarded is 21/20. And neither a goal being scored or a card being awarded is 150/1.

This is Italy. We can see a 0-0 draw happening. But the chances of no card being awarded in a dull 0-0 draw full of the dark arts would be on a par with a miracle occurring.

In a tight contest, we see a card coming before a goal.
