Games in the acca (all Wednesday, 7:45pm kick offs unless stated):

Brentford v Sheffield Wednesday (Tue, 8pm)

Brighton v Liverpool (Wed, 7:30pm)

Aston Villa v Crystal Palace

Manchester United v Leicester

Preston v Arsenal

The action gets underway this tonight with Brentford, who boast the best home record in the Premier League this season with 13 points earned from their five games at the Gtech Community Stadium so far, taking on midtable Championship opposition in the form of Sheffield Wednesday.

Wednesday night sees most of the heavy hitters join the action, including a Liverpool side with the best away record in the Premier League and currently just a point off the top of the table travelling to the south coast to take on Brighton in the early(ish) kick off.

Elsewhere across the country in the Carabao Cup, Aston Villa, currently fourth in the league unbeaten in 11 matches in all competitions, host a Crystal Palace side with just one win in their last nine in the league and without a league victory on the road all season.

Manchester United are also in action on Wednesday in their first match since the sacking of Erik ten Hag as manager, with Ruud van Nistelrooy, who had a strong record when in charge of PSV, taking on a newly promoted Leicester side at Old Trafford.

Leicester manager Steve Cooper has lost all five games he’s managed against Manchester United in his career, and his next one won’t be easy with United looking for a new manager bounce in van Nistelrooy’s first game in charge.

The final match of the acca sees Premier League title chasing Arsenal take on a Preston side languishing just three points above the relegation zone in the Championship having given up a 3-0 lead on the weekend to only manage to draw 3-3 against a Plymouth side who started the match in the relegation zone.
