Kenya’s legendary professional golfer Dismas Indiza commands the rest of the field after the opening round at the 2024 Stanbic Entebbe Golf open.
After the first 18 holes of action, the long-hitting Indiza scored one-under 70 on the day.
Indiza’s score card had 5 birdies, 9 pars and 4 bogies.
The birdies came on holes 7, 9, 11, 15 and 18 whilst the pars were recorded on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 13 and 14.
The grey patches all came at the back course on holes 10, 12, 16 and the troublesome Deo Akope Challenge 17.
Three golfers are tied in second place on level par (71); Grace Kasango, Jastas Madoya and Silver Opio.
Four golfers played 1-over (72); James Koto, David Kamulindwa, Phillip Kasozi and Saidi Mawa.
Robinson Owiti, last year’s champion Tadeo Rodell Gaita and 2-over after 18 holes.
Tom Jingo, Aloys Nsabimana (Rwanda) and David Kato returned 3-over whilst Deo Akope, Herman Deco Mutebi and Abraham Ainamani played 4-over (75).
It remains a competitive field coming to day two action on Thursday, 31st October 2024.
Meanwhile, the first day of action for the amateurs will also commence on Thursday.
