Bet of the day
Fiorentina to beat Genoa @ 3/4
It’s five wins on the bounce for Fiorentina and l Viola look a standout wager at Genoa on Thursday evening.
Raffaele Palladino’s men are fresh from Sunday’s 5-1 hammering of Roma and that emphatic success followed a 4-2 victory over St Gallen in Europe.
Prior to that Conference League success, Fiorentina crushed Lecce 6-0 and I Viola have really found their stride.
Palladino’s men have also recorded good victories over AC Milan and Lazio this season and the 40-year-old has built a talented squad.
Lucas Beltran, Moise Kean and Andrea Colpani are good forward performers and 19-year-old centre-back Pietro Comuzzo is a hugely promising prospect.
Genoa have gone eight games without a victory and Il Grifone hit only two shots on target in a 3-0 defeat to Lazio last time out.
Alberto Gilardino has snapped up former Man City forward Mario Ballotelli this week, but he is unlikely to feature when Fiorentina come to town and another defeat awaits Genoa.
Special of the day
Torino to beat Roma @ 4/1
Daniele De Rossi collected only three points in the first four Serie A games with Roma this season and the 41-year-old was swiftly shown the Stadio Olimpico door.
It appeared the only way up was when current boss Ivan Juric took charge in September, but Sunday’s 5-1 hammering at Fiorentina suggests otherwise.
There are rumours of dressing room altercations and unrest in the home camp, but Juric remains in charge of a Yellow and Reds side which has won only two Serie A matches all season.
Torino go to the Stadio Olimpico as 4/1 shots and that looks far too big.
The Turin side have been playing well without the result to match, but Il Toro should take plenty of confidence from Friday’s 1-0 victory over Como.
Long shot of the day
Lazio to score over 1.5 goals @ 13/10
Lazio have played 12 matches this season and I Biancocelesti have scored at least two goals in nine of those games.
Marco Baroni’s men have hit three goals against Venezia, Torino and Genoa in the Italian top-flight this season and blasted four past Nice in the Europa League.
Como haven’t kept a clean sheet this term and Cesc Fabregas’ aged defence may struggle to keep the Romans at bay.
