Jose Mourinho was hilariously mocked by his former stars after falling victim to a crunching tackle in Fenerbahce training.

The Special One was left limping off the pitch, with the help of two coaches, after a training ground accident Kolo Toure would be proud of.

Mourinho took over as boss of the Turkish giants this summer in a bid to wrestle the Super Lig crown from city rivals Galatasaray.

The iconic manager has quickly bought into Fenerbahce’s ambitious project and has been heavily active with his players on the training ground.

That was no more evident than this past week when the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss was involved in a training-ground mishap ahead of this weekend’s trip to Trabzonspor.

Mourinho was inadvertently taken down by midfielder Ismail Yuksek during a routine training drill after the pair had a coming together.

The Portuguese was unable to finish the session and was seen being carried off the training ground by staff.

Making light of the incident, Mourinho posted footage of the moment it happened to his Instagram account alongside the caption: “Lesson to young coaches. Never wear same colour as players. They can pass you the ball… or kick you from behind.”

He even tagged Yuksek in the post for added humour alongside two players he formally managed at Manchester United and Roma respectively in Marouane Fellaini and Marash Kumbulla.

Mourinho has garnered a host of comments relating to the video, not least by a few interested observers waiting to stick the boot in.

Former United, Chelsea and Roma midfielder Nemanja Matic cheekily wrote: “Well deserved.”

Stamford Bridge legend John Terry and Tottenham hero Robbie Keane also weighed in on the ribbing by typing a host of laughing emojis.

Mourinho recently hit headlines after hinting at his next move once his time at the Istanbul-based club comes to an end.

“The best thing I have to do is when I leave Fener is that I go to a club that doesn’t play in UEFA competition,” he said.

“So a club at the bottom in England who needs a coach in two years, I’m ready to go. I don’t want to speak anymore about it. I want to speak about the game.”

But until then, Fenerbahce fans can rest assured that Mourinho is committed to bringing success to the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.

“I sleep at the club so I don’t waste time,” he said in an interview in September.

“Istanbul is a beautiful city, but I didn’t come here on holiday, I came to work. Everyone in the club does this, we have a good working environment.”

Fenerbahce are currently third in the Super Lig table, eight points behind Galatasaray with a game in hand.
