The Vancouver Canucks and the Calgary Flames make up the final two play-off places in the Western Conference, with the Edmonton Oilers behind on only goal difference, having all picked up 11 points so far.
The Canucks are next on action on Saturday as they take on the San Jose Sharks in California, the Flames host the Eastern Conference leaders the New Jersey Devils tonight, before they take on the Oilers in the second Battle of Alberta of the season on Sunday night.
The Ottawa Senators sit just a point off the top eight in the East, with the Montreal Canadiens a further point behind, with the former taking on the New York Rangers across the border tonight, with the Canadiens next in action tomorrow night in Pittsburgh.
