The 2024 Grand Slam of Darts will get started this weekend with Luke Humphries looking to retain his title in Wolverhampton. 

Humphries won this nine-day tournament last year after beating Rob Cross in the final, and the World No.1 will be eyeing more glory.

But he will have to overcome the best darts players in the world with three-time winner Michael van Gerwen and Luke Littler among those featuring. 

This will be the penultimate major event of the season as the World Darts Championship nears, so picking up some form will be crucial ahead of the big one. 

Grand Slam of Darts: Date and how to follow

The 2024 Grand Slam of Darts will begin on Saturday, November 9. 

It will run for just over a week and end on Sunday, November 17. 

The tournament is being held at WV Active Aldersley in Wolverhampton. 

There will be two sessions of play per day, with the afternoon sessions starting at 1pm and evening games being played from 7pm.

Grand Slam of Darts: Format and groups 

There will be 32 players competing in the 2024 Grand Slam of Darts. 

The players will be split into eight groups of four and they will play each other, with a win awarding a player two points. 

Group matches will be best-of-nine legs and the top two players in each group (the ones with the most points) will progress through to the second round. 

Fixtures in the second round will be a winner of one group versus a runner-up from another. 

In the second round, the games become best-of-19 legs and knockout, with the loser being eliminated. 

The process is the same for the quarter-finals and semi-finals, with those matches being played as best-of-31 legs, which is also the case in the final.

• Group B: Danny Noppert, Martin Schindler, Cameron Menzies, Beau Greaves

Grand Slam of Darts: Prize money

There will be a huge £650,000 prize pot available for this year’s Grand Slam of Darts. 

The winner of the tournament will pick up a whopping £150,000 of that pot while the runner-up is set to claim £70,000. 

Semi-finals will leave with £50,000 and quarter-finalists get £25,000. 

By making it through the group stage, players will secure themselves at least £12,250. 

The reward gets lower and lower if a player is eliminated in the groups, with third place getting £8,000 and bottom of the group only getting £5,000. 

Whichever player wins their group will claim an extra £3,500 on top of their prize.
