Galatasaray vs Spurs prediction
Galatasaray are the favourites to win this European clash against a Premier League side that are difficult to predict.
Spurs sit seventh in the Premier League with only one draw and have alternated between winning and losing in each of their last five games in the competition.
In the Europa League though, they’ve won three out of three in style and sit up the top with Lazio ahead only on goal difference.
The Turkish outfit are just behind, by two points, having picked up a draw in the middle of two wins.
They were even up 3-0 by half time against IF Elfsborg but soon conceded twice in the second half to send the pressure sky high, before Yunus Akgun sealed the deal in the 83rd.
Elfsborg continued to fight back though and even got a third in the 92nd minute to take it the distance.
Galatasaray had a multitude of chances with 11 shots on target out of 23 attempts, 66% possession but it still felt close at times.
Their 2-2 draw to RFS was also a sign of them not sealing the deal despite controlling the ball and having so many chances.
As a result, Tottenham have the chance to get another win provided they do what their previous opposition have done and be clinical with the few chances created.
Galatasaray vs Spurs betting tips
Tottenham should also hold the ball much more than the Turkish side are used to.
Whether that will benefit Galatasaray remains to be seen, but their home advantage should count for something while soaking up pressure from Spurs’ attacks.
The Turkish side are first in the Super Lig going unbeaten in ten games and will be tough to break down.
But lesser sides in Europe have succeeded in scoring against them, so Spurs will feel they have an opportunity to really seal a knockout place with a win here.
They’ve beaten Man City and Aston Villa in succession now and their confidence will be sky high travelling to Turkey.
There should be another few goals in this too with both sides prone to scoring plenty, conceding – especially late goals.
Osimhen has settled into Turkey nicely and as expected has already netted four in just five appearances in the Super League.
He will be keen to add to his European Cup goals that he scored for Napoli, with seven in the Champions League, but he’s yet to score in the Europa.
Solanke has hit some great scoring form too and that will have a great effect on his confidence in this game, where he can add to his first ever European goal.
