Millwall v Leeds predictions
Leeds travel to the capital city with an eight match unbeaten run in tact, and will be looking to extend that streak with victory tonight as they aim to climb back into the automatic promotion positions.
Daniel Farke’s side dropped out of the top two in the Championship table last night after Sheffield United’s late turnaround of their match with Bristol City, but victory for the Whites tonight will see them take back second place, which they currently trail by two points.
The Yorkshire side have won three of their last four matches but are winless in each of their last three on the road, though remain to date the only team in the second tier yet to be beaten away from home this season.
Of course there is scope for Leeds to finish the night top of the Championship table as they bid for promotion back to the Premier League at the second time of asking having fallen short in the play-off final last time out.
A victory for Leeds, combined with defeat for current league leaders Sunderland at Preston, would see the Yorkshire side top the Championship tree.
Millwall are on a strong run of form of their own, with just one defeat in their last eight, unbeaten in their last five and with three wins on the bounce, the Lions, who were down in 20th in the table just a fortnight ago, can break into the top six with a win tonight.
Three 1-0 wins in a row, most notably against fourth-placed Burnley on Sunday afternoon, has seen Neil Harris’ side announce themselves as dark horses for an unlikely play-off push, which could see the club into the top flight for the first time since 1990.
The east London side are in very confident mood as they look to end their three match losing streak against rivals Leeds, and close the two point gap between themselves and the top six.
With both teams on strong unbeaten runs heading into tonight’s clash, and each with three clean sheets in their last four games, a tight match can be expected tonight.
A very hostile atmosphere at the Den combined with a combative and physical style of play by the home side will make it tricky for Leeds to impose their free flowing best football, and I think the recent records suggests a stalemate is the most likely result tonight. 1-1.
Millwall v Leeds betting tips
No Championship player has recorded more assists this season than Wilfried Gnonto, bagging his fifth of the season in Saturday’s comfortable 3-0 win over Plymouth.
Two strong unbeaten runs and winning records come to blow at the Den tonight, and though Leeds head to the capital as favourites and with potential to top the table tonight, and away game under the lights at the Den is always going to be a difficult one, particularly with Millwall in the confident mood they currently possess.
