Michael Schumacher and Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes, Emma Raducanu and… Porsche?

The tennis superstar has been linked with the German automotive brand ever since she became a household name in the months following her historic and unprecedented US Open victory in 2021.

Raducanu caught the attention of some of the world’s biggest brands as a British talent aged just 18, and Porsche was one of them, making her a global brand ambassador.

As part of the deal, the Bromley-native was reportedly gifted a 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet worth £125,000 which took pride of place at home.

But the partnership later made headlines in October when The Daily Mail reported that Porsche had recalled the vehicle with Raducanu struggling with both injuries and form.

Raducanu has now offered an update, of sorts, posting a picture of a different Porsche to her Instagram followers along with the words ‘good day’.

When Raducanu reportedly had her Porsche taken back, the Mail quotes a spokesperson from the company saying: “While we do on occasion loan Emma a car, this is very much an ad hoc basis.”

However, the Metro now contradicted that statement, claiming a spokesperson told them: “Emma Raducanu is a global brand ambassador for Porsche and there have not been any changes within our successful partnership since it started in 2022.

“We are very happy with our partnership.”

Among Raducanu’s sponsors are Dior, Evian and Vodafone who she regularly promotes to her 2.5million Instagram followers.

Some of those companies may have begun having cold feet over the years with 2022 and 2023 particularly bad years for the Toronto-born star who underwent major surgery.

However, 2024 saw a renaissance for Raducanu, who impressed at Wimbledon, reaching the fourth round and boosting her world ranking back to a respectable no.58.
