Lee Carsley refused to comment on the prospect of him taking charge of Coventry City.
Carsley is currently working as interim England manager having taken the job following Gareth Southgate‘s resignation over the summer.
While leading the team in four matches so far, England’s upcoming fixtures with Greece and Ireland in the UEFA Nations League will be his last with Thomas Tuchel confirmed as the man to lead the Three Lions on a permanent basis from January 1.
That appointment means that Carsley will return to his role as England Under-21 boss, however, the job with EFL side Coventry could take his fancy.
The Sky Blues sacked Mark Robins following seven years and 244 days in charge, meaning that the search is on to replace the man who had been the third-longest-serving boss in English football.
Carsley made 77 appearances for Coventry during two spells with the club as a player and was even named as captain.
But quizzed by talkSPORT’s Faye Carruthers about the vacancy, Carsley gave nothing away.
He told talkSPORT: “It’d be fair to say I’ve got enough on my hands at the minute!
“It’s been a real challenge picking the squad for today and we’ve spent the last three weeks at games and traveling all over England and Europe to watch players.
“My focus is very much on this camp and that’s my answer.”
Coventry’s search for a new boss comes after the shock decision to sack Robins on Thursday.
Robins left with Coventry 17th in the table after a 2-1 defeat at home to Derby on Wednesday night.
Robins joined Coventry for a second spell in 2017 and guided the club from League Two to the Championship.
He even led Coventry to the play-off final in 2022, only to be beaten on penalties by Luton Town at Wembley.
Last season the Sky Blues also reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup where they were beaten on penalties by Manchester United.
