Stipe Miocic landed Michael Bisping in big trouble during the latter’s hospital recovery.
Bisping told fans on social media that he was on the mend after underdoing double neck surgery in October.
The former UFC middleweight champion said he went through ‘insane agony’ in the past 18 months leading up the surgery.
Bisping also said that his wife Rebecca, who celebrated her birthday during his surgery, was by his side the whole time.
But it seems she wasn’t too happy in the aftermath of Bisping’s surgery and during his recovery.
“I saw Stipe [Miocic], as I said, doing an interview when I was out on a walk this morning,” Bisping said on an episode of his podcast on Tuesday.
“It’s all I’ve been able to do, I’d lay in bed for four days without moving at all.
“So I was like: ‘Right, I’ve got to do something, I’ve got to move,’ so I went for a little walk, got a bit of sunshine, a bit of vitamin d in the eyes – that circadian rhythm and all of that other b******* that they talk about.
“But I was watching an interview with Stipe and Rebecca’s like: ‘Do you mind? You’re kind of ruining this bloody walk for me you know – trying to enjoy the peace of nature and we’ve got Stipe chatting away!”
Past and present UFC stars sent Bisping wholesome messages after he posted about his tough surgery on Instagram.
Former light heavyweight champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson said: “Heal fast bro” and current middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis added: “Good luck brother.”
Legendary UFC commentator Bruce Buffer replied: “Best wishes for 100 per cent recovery. You got this Michael! Warrior Spirit Forever!”
Miocic, who is 42 years old, fights Jon Jones in the main event of UFC 309 for the heavyweight title in less than two weeks.
The card also has Michael Chandler return to face No.2 ranked lightweight Charles Oliveira in a five-round co-main event.
However, rumours have circulated in the MMA community that the fight is in jeopardy with one of Chandler or Oliveira potentially having pulling out.
No.10 ranked lightweight Renato Moicano reacted to the news saying: “Chandler or Charles out? Call me I fight in ten days. Time is money.”
Meanwhile Dustin Poirier, who was victorious twice over Conor McGregor in 2021, said: “I’m in.”
Tom Aspinall is the official back-up fighter for Jones vs Miocic on November 17, should either fighter have to pull out.
Manchester’s Aspinall has predicted that Miocic can knockout Jones, as he has ‘big knockout power’ compare to the current UFC heavyweight champ.
