Most of us have come accustomed to seeing the Dutchman as one of the Premier League’s growing number of bald coaches – although they’re one-down after Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United axe.

Of course, this wasn’t always the case – he did once had a full head of hair – but few would have thought how unrecognisable he’d be.

There was also one other significant surprise from the newly-emerged picture, and that is Slot’s resemblance to a superstar Hollywood actor.

Although it’s hard to tell by looking at him without hair, the Liverpool boss displays a likeness to Tom Cruise.

Slot’s flowing locks left one fan claiming he would give the Vanilla Sky actor a run for his money.

And it’s hard to argue against it as once you clap your eyes on the picture, it’s hard to unsee it.

Slot, a midfielder in his day, played his entire career in his homeland in a career spanning 18 years.

His first steps in football came with FC Zwolle before spells with NAC Breda and Sparta Rotterdam.

He returned to Zwolle in 2010 before hanging up his boots three-years later.

His career has reached greater heights since venturing into management with Cambuur, AZ Alkmaar, Feyenoord and now Liverpool.

The Tom Cruise lookalike has made a superb start at Anfield in what some believed to be a Mission Impossible in succeeding Jurgen Klopp.

Slot has steered Liverpool to the top of the Premier League with eight wins from ten games.

His band of Top Guns have also produced the goods on the European stage with the Reds extending their 100 percent start to the Champions League with a 4-0 win over Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday and sitting top of the new league-phase table.

Slot’s lack of transfer activity after taking over this summer appeared to show he had more than A Few Good Men at his disposal.

Many believed the unenviable task of succeeding Klopp was Risky Business, however, Slot has so far continued the excellent work set by the German.

Liverpool fans have given the Dutchman their early approval following the impressive start to his tenure.

During the victory over Leverkusen, the Kop displayed a flag bearing Slot’s face along with the words, ‘Arne’s Slot Machine’.

Arne Slot has got his Liverpool side firing on all cylinders this season

Liverpool face another test of their title credentials this weekend when Aston Villa head to Merseyside.

Slot has assured fans that his side are not getting carried away despite sitting top of the table.

“We are there to do our work and become better players on a daily basis or keep having the same level,” he said ahead of the clash with Unai Emery’s men.

“It’s not the first time that this club is where it is at the moment. I think for most of these players it is a normal situation and I don’t think they get carried away at all by us being top of the league at the moment.

“They know how small the margins are when it comes to our results and the amount of points we are ahead of the other teams.

“I’m not trying to manage expectations with the squad because we don’t talk about expectations.

“The only expectations I have is that they put the same effort in on a daily basis. That’s the only thing we focus on.”
