All eyes were on Caitlin Clark as she took to the court in her debut WNBA season.

The Indiana Fever star broke countless records after arriving as the No. 1 draft pick.

She scored the most points by a guard in a single season in WNBA history, and became the fastest player to hit 100 3-pointers.

Clark also smashed Alyssa Thomas’s turnover record, and registered a league-high 337 assists.

While the Fever didn’t go as deep in the playoffs as they would have liked, it’s fair to say that the 22-year-old dominated on a personal level as she helped guide her team to the postseason for the first time since 2016.

Now, Clark is aiming to make a splash in a totally different sport.

With time to kill at the end of the 2024 season, she has turned to golf, joking that she wants to become a professional – and she has a big event coming up fast.

Clark will play alongside Nelly Korda, who is currently ranked No. 1 in the world, and golf icon Annika Sorenstam at The Annika in Florida next week.

She is slated to play in the Pro-Am on Wednesday, November 13, and will play the front nine with Korda and the back nine with Sorenstam, who is the tournament host.

And the basketball star will get the full experience while she’s there.

The Sports Business Journal reports that LPGA and tournament social media accounts are expected to live stream Clark’s warm-up on the range at Pelican Golf Club, as well as conduct an in-round walk-and-talk interview.

Meanwhile, Golf Channel’s Golf Today programme, which typically airs at 12:30pm ET, will air from the earlier time of 11am on Wednesday to show highlights and live look-ins from her round.

Away from the green, Clark will also participate in a Women’s Leadership Summit on Tuesday, which will be live streamed by NBC Sports and on the LPGA’s official website.

Sorenstam, who will play the back nine with Clark, spoke of her excitement ahead of the event, admitting that the pair are yet to meet.

“I’ve watched her, read about her. I’ve had a little communication through social media. But really don’t think that counts,” she said in a pre-tournament press conference.

“I’m looking forward to spending time with her and getting to know her.

“She’s just done so much for women’s sport. She’s the hottest thing right now. I’m glad she’ll take some time out of her busy schedule to come out and see what kind of golfer she is.”

World No. 2 Lilia Vu, who will arrive at The Annika as the defending champion, also admitted the news of Clark’s involvement left her stunned.

“I immediately turned to my mom, and I’m like, ‘Oh, my gosh, Caitlin Clark is coming to the Pelican.’ I thought it was the coolest thing,” she said.

“Hopefully, I’m lucky enough to meet her on that Pro-Am day and hopefully run into her. It’s been so cool to see everything she’s done. I think she’s a great ambassador for women’s sports.”
