The AFRIYEA Golf Academy has announced an exciting new initiative, Future Golf Stars, designed to provide critical skills to recent Primary Seven and Senior Four Leavers.
The non-residential junior camp will be officially launched on November 11, 2024, at the Toro Club in Fort Portal city.
This aims to equip young students with essential golf and life skills to prepare them for future success both on and off the course.
The program targets students who recently completed their final exams (primary seven and senior four) and will offer a structured environment where they can build a strong foundation in golf and receive career guidance and mentorship.
The academy’s leadership believes this is a crucial time for young people to gain positive influences and learn essential skills that will help them navigate life’s challenges.
“This is a crucial time to support young people with guidance and opportunities that will shape their future. Our goal with Future Golf Stars is to not only nurture golfing talent but also provide these students with life skills and mentorship that empower them to make positive choices and succeed in any path they choose,” said Isaiah Mwesige, CEO of AFRIYEA Golf Academy.
Comprehensive Golf Training for All Levels
The Future Golf Stars program is open to students of all backgrounds and skill levels. Beginners will focus on learning golf fundamentals, while intermediate students will work on course skills and game management.
Advanced juniors will be given access to more intensive training that prepares them for competitive play.
The sessions will be held three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Life Skills and Mentorship
In addition to golf instruction, participants will engage in life skills workshops and mentorship sessions on off-days.
The program includes professional mentorship in physiology, featuring expert Stephen Smith and recent graduates from UK universities who will virtually mentor students on personal growth and well-being.
Building Positive Pathways for Uganda’s Youth
With the holiday break extending until late February 2025, Afriyea sees this as an ideal opportunity to offer students a constructive and inspiring experience.
The non-residential setup ensures that participants can remain close to their families while benefiting from a supportive, skill-building environment.
By making golf accessible to all, Future Golf Stars hopes to foster a new generation of confident young Ugandans.
Future Golf Stars is open to all interested students who are eager to explore golf and receive valuable life skills guidance.
Through this initiative, Afriyea Golf Academy reinforces its commitment to youth development in Uganda, empowering students to build their futures on a strong foundation of mentorship, education, and sport.
