  • Matchday 6: ICC Challenge League B
  • Game 4: Uganda v Italy
  • Venue: Entebbe Cricket Oval

The Lakeside Oval in Entebbe will host the highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash between hosts Uganda and Italy.

Italy is in second place, but its two victories have been an indicator of a team on a mission. Its 155-run win against Hong Kong put its competition on notice, especially Uganda.

The hosts have won two games so far and had another washed out. Their collection of 5 points has them on top of the table, tied for the same number of points as Italy in second place and Hong Kong in third. Hong Kong has played a game more than the others.

Italy were unfortunate that their game against Bahrain at Lugogo was washed out, and maximum points from that game could have sent them to the top of the table.

Uganda batted well in their last two games with Captain Riazat Ali Shah leading the way with over 180 runs in two games and in a game of high stakes, he will still be the go-to man for runs for the Cricket Cranes.

Dinesh Nakrani has been the pick of the bowlers for Uganda with the slow left-arm spinners Alpesh Ramjani and Henry Ssenyondo complimenting him well. Cosmas Kyewuta has picked up a fiver while his new ball partner Juma Miyagi has bowled with intent.

The Italians have shared the run-scoring responsibilities however, Emilio Nico Gay has been solid at the top of the order with Harry Manenti picking up a century in the win over Hong Kong. Grant Stuart and the slow bowling option of Damith Kosala have taken charge with the ball.

With the clash between two high-scoring teams and potent bowling attacks, there will be little to separate the two sides at the Lakeside Oval.
