The 24 teams that will play in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will be known by next week as we head into the final two rounds of the qualifiers in the current international break.
Already, seven nations including hosts Morocco have confirmed their presence at the 35th edition along former champions Algeria, DR Congo, Egypt and Senegal.
Others are 1998 semi-finalists Burkina Faso and so far, perfect Angola but who will join them after match day 5 & 6 and what do they need?
Meanwhile, Burundi, Liberia, Eswatini, Namibia, South Sudan and Malawi have no chance even if they collect all remaining six points.
Our own Ismael Kiyonga explores each group revealing who needs what to qualify and those who have no chance.
Group A: Tunisia 7, Comoros 6, Gambia 5, Madagascar 2
Tunisia need just three points to seal qualification and they host Madagascar on match day six while Comoros and Gambia face off a decisive match for either.
If Comoros win, they will have sealed qualification before the final round.
Group B: Morocco 12, Gabon 7, CAR 3, Lesotho 1
Central African Republic must win against Lesotho and hope Morocco maintain perfection when they take on Gabon on match day five.
However, Gabon who need just to match CAR’s results remain strong candidates for second place.
Group C: Egypt 12, Botswana 6, Cape Verde 3, Mauritania 3
Botswana are strong favourites to join already qualified Egypt but need to beat The Pharaohs on match day five.
A winner between Cape Verde and Mauritania will give self a big chance in the final round especially if Egypt beat Botswana.
Group D: Nigeria 10, Benin 6, Rwanda 5, Libya 1
Nigeria will look to secure their place with victory over Benin while Rwanda must beat Libya in Kigali in their next match to make the final round fixtures a spectacle.
If Benin beat the Super Eagles and Rwanda get three points over Libya, the final round will come with all top three with a chance.
Group E: Algeria 12, Equatorial Guinea 7, Togo 2, Liberia 1
Togo must beat already eliminated Liberia to stand a chance going into the final round while second placed Equatorial Guinea will hope to secure their place with a victory against perfect Algeria.
Equatorial Guinea will qualify regardless of any results if Togo fail to secure maximum points against Liberia.
Group F: Angola 12, Sudan 7, Ghana 2, Niger 1
The Black Stars of Ghana have destiny out of their hand as they must win their remaining two matches versus Angola and Niger to qualify and hope Sudan falter in all their final two matches.
Niger, despite sitting bottom with one point still have an outside chance if they win all two matches and Sudan plus Ghana falter.
Group G: Ivory Coast 9, Zambia 7, Sierra Leone 4, Chad 2
Holders Ivory Coast require one win to seal their place and face Zambia away and Chad home.
They appear like they will get the desired results leaving Zambia versus Sierra Leone in the final round as the ultimate decider for either.
Outsiders Chad can also still make it if they win their final two games and hope Sierra Leone and Zambia falter.
Group H: DR Congo 12, Guinea 6, Tanzania 4, Ethiopia 1
Perfect DR Congo are already there with Guinea, Tanzania and Ethiopia fighting for the remaining place.
Tanzania must beat Ethiopia and hope Guinea falters versus DR Congo before the two face off in Dar es Salaam in the final round.
For Guinea, avoiding defeat against Tanzania will surely take them to the Promised Land regardless which result they get against Sebastien Desabre’s men.
Group I: Mozambique 8, Mali 8, Guinea Bissau 4, Eswatini 1
The top of the table clash on round five will have a significant impact as a winner will confirm qualification.
Guinea Bissau will hope to capitalise on any slip ups especially from Mozambique who they face in their final group game.
But first, they must beat already eliminated Eswatini on match day five to stand a chance.
Group J: Cameroon 10, Zimbabwe 8, Kenya 4, Namibia 0
The Indomitable Lions are already qualified leaving the other slot for either Zimbabwe or Kenya.
Kenya must win their remaining matches against Namibia and Zimbabwe and hope the Zimbabweans falter in their match versus Cameroon.
Zimbabwe need to match Harambee Stars results to reach the promised land.
Group K: Uganda 10, South Africa 8, Congo 4, South Sudan 0
Uganda need just one point in the remaining two fixtures to qualify while South Africa need three to confirm their place in Morocco.
Congo must beat both South Sudan and Uganda and hope South Africa falters in the remaining matches.
However, both Uganda and South Africa will qualify with two matches to play in case South Sudan deny Congo victory in Juba on Thursday.
Group L: Burkina Faso 10, Senegal 10, Burundi 3, Malawi 0
The only already decided group with both Burkina Faso and Senegal already qualified on unassailable leads.
They face off in round 5 in a fixture that will literally decide who tops the group with Burundi and Malawi already eliminated.
