Uganda Squash national team will compete at the 2024 Trustco Africa senior Squash championships due at the Wanderers Squash courts, Windhoek – Namibia.
The sport governing body, Uganda Squash Rackets Association selected a team of six players; four men and two ladies for the championship that will take place from 18th to 24th November 2024.
The female players on the team Elizabeth Musiimenta and Safinah Mugide.
The male team has the likes of Paul Kasirye Kadoma, Ivan Wasswa, Oscar Mugabi and Raymond Michael Kawooya.
Kawooya also travels as the national coach.
Traveling officials:
Two officials Isa Bbale (the vice president of the Uganda Squash Rackets Association) and the general secretary Shifah Nantambi will accompany the team as officials.
Bbale and Nantambi will also grace the forthcoming Squash Federation of Africa Annual General Meeting.
Team Uganda was officially flagged off to Namibia on Thursday, 14th November 2024.
The event will commence with a team event and this will be followed by individual play-offs.
The Namibia Squash Association (NSA) has been facilitated by Trustco Group Holdings to a tune of $4,417.45 (about Ug.Shs 16, 204,855.15).
The 2024 event will be the first time Namibia hosts the championship since 2013.
The event is expected to bring together the best Squash players on the African continent.
