Denmark vs Spain predictions
After sweeping all before them at Euro 2024, Spain hit the ground trudging at the start of this Nations League campaign.
A 0-0 draw with Serbia on matchday one represented a subpar start for the Spaniards, but they have made up for it since then.
A 4-1 victory over Switzerland and a 1-0 defeat of Denmark propelled Luis de la Fuente’s side to the top of the table, where they remained after a routine 3-0 triumph over Serbia last time out.
With 10 points to their name from a possible 12, Spain have already booked their place in the quarter-finals of the tournament. Their next task is to secure top spot in the group.
That is precisely what they will do if they avoid defeat by Denmark on Friday. Spain currently lead their upcoming opponents by three points. Since head-to-head record takes precedence over goal difference as a tiebreaker, Spain will be uncatchable even if they draw this match with Denmark.
Not that we should expect the visitors to Copenhagen to play for a point. Spain will be going all-out for victory, as they do whenever they take to the field.
De la Fuente led his country to Nations League glory in the last edition, so he knows how valuable this tournament can be.
True, it will probably never be as big or prestigious as the World Cup or European Championship, but a trophy is a trophy and going all the way in the Nations League last time out no doubt inculcated a winning feeling in the Spain squad.
For their part, Denmark still have work to do as they aim to reach the last eight. Having said that, Kasper Hjulmand’s men would advance to the quarters by beating Serbia next week, regardless of what happens against Spain,
Still, a point or all three on Friday would be most welcome. The Danes may have lost only 1-0 in the reverse fixture, but Spain dominated that match from start to finish.
With the home crowd behind them at the Parken Stadium, Denmark will hope for a different outcome here.
Denmark vs Spain betting tips
Spain have already qualified for the quarter-finals of the Nations League and Denmark are striving to join them.
Spain to win
It is not just Manchester City who are missing Rodri after his season-ending knee ligament tear. At the risk of stating the obvious, Spain are also a stronger side with the Ballon d’Or winner in it.
Lamine Yamal, Dani Carvajal, Gavi and Ferran Torres are also absent from the squad due to injury, so this is not a full-strength Spanish group.
There is still plenty of quality available to De la Fuente, though. Either Mikel Merino or Martin Zubimendi will be an adequate replacement for Rodri against Denmark and Switzerland.
Free Bet Offers
Dani Olmo and Pedri will be prominent in the first game at least, while Nico Williams will be aiming to maintain his recent form for the national team.
Denmark are a solid team who should not be underestimated, but in our view Spain will get the job done.
Go for a Spain win at 5/8 with VBET
Over 2.5 goals
There have been nine goals in Spain’s four matches so far in the Nations League, and exactly the same number in Denmark’s four encounters.
That works out at an average of 2.25 per game, but we envisage a higher-scoring affair when this pair lock horns on Friday.
This is essentially a free hit for Denmark. A win would almost certainly send them through to the quarter-finals come what may. But if they were to lose, they will get a second chance to qualify when they face Serbia on Monday. Hjulmand’s team can thus afford to take a few risks.
Given that la Roja are already safely through to the last eight, they could be let off the leash by De la Fuente.
This bet would have paid out in both of these teams’ most recent matches, as Spain beat Serbia 3-0 and Denmark drew 2-2 with Switzerland.

Samu Omorodion to score any time
After a blistering start to the club campaign, Samu Omorodion is in line to make his Spain debut against Denmark. The latest reports suggest he could even go straight into the starting XI.
After being let go by Atletico Madrid without making a single appearance for Diego Simeone’s side, the 20-year-old has been scoring goals for fun at Porto.
Samu has made the net ripple 11 times in his first 12 appearances for the Portuguese outfit, including a brace against Manchester United in the Europa League.
Alvaro Morata has never been a prolific scorer for his country, but Spain fans are hopeful that Samu will emerge as their next great goal-getter.
His confidence is high right now, so do not be surprised if Samu grabs a goal on his debut.
