Suriname vs Canada preview
Canada have a great chance of going far in this competition as the clear favourites to progress through the quarter-finals.
Canada were close to reaching the finals of Copa America in the summer, progressing to the semi-finals before losing 2-0 to Argentina, a respectable score line given they were taking on the World Cup winners.
They drew both their quarter-finals to Venezuela and their 3rd place play off with Uruguay, as they emerge as a proper contender in the major tournaments.
They lost 4-3 on pens to Uruguay, but look likely of facing either Panama, USA or Mexico in the semi-finals.
Canada beat the USA in September 2-1 in a great friendly clash before drawing to Mexico four days later.
They also beat Panama 2-1 in another friendly last month and really look like the favourites to win the Nations League.
As the odds-on favourites over Suriname they should win this convincingly, but it’s not always a guarantee to end with a plethora of goals.
