Jon Jones told UFC fans that he will ‘give them the fight they want to see’ after knocking out Stipe Miocic.

The former UFC heavyweight champion looked like a shadow of his former self as he was stopped in the third round by a sickening spinning back-kick to the body.

Miocic looked like a shot fighter as he was knocked out by Jones

Miocic had been out of action since being knocked out by Francis Ngannou in 2021 and looked every one of his 42 years.

The speed difference was apparent as Jones beat up Miocic on the feet and on the ground.

Most UFC fans expected the fight to go exactly the way it did and didn’t want to see it in the first place.

The contest everyone wants to see is one against interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, who has cleared out the entire division during his charge to the top.

Jones has shown little interest in fighting Aspinall and even suggested he would rather retire than fight the Brit.

However, ‘Bones’ chose not to hang up his gloves after the UFC 309 main event and delivered a cryptic message to a packed-out Madison Square Garden.

“As far as my future in the Octagon, I decided that maybe I will not retire,” the UFC heavyweight champion said in the immediate aftermath

“I have some conversations to have with Dana and Hunter and if everything goes right maybe we will give you guys what you want to see.”

Pressed by Joe Rogan on who he wants to face next, Jones replied: “I know that we have options and so I’m going to see what Uncle Dana and Uncle Hunter want. You will hear about it soon I’m sure.”

Jones could, of course, be referring to a super fight with light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, which he has talked up during fight week.

But he will be aware that the clash everyone wants to see is with Aspinall, who was cage side in New York.

Jones evaded questions on Aspinall during the lead-up to his fight with Miocic, even walking out of a TNT interview with Adam Catterall to avoid being grilled on the matter.
