Bet of the day
Denmark to beat Serbia @ 17/10
Denmark were beaten 2-1 by Spain in Copenhagen on Friday, but the Red and Whites performed with credit against the European champions and Brian Riemer’s men can get back to winning ways in their final group stage clash with Serbia.
The Danes can secure a spot in the Nations League quarter-finals if they can avoid defeat against Serbia and the Red and Whites look capable of sealing the deal in style.
Denmark impressed when beating Serbia 2-0 in September and Riemer’s men limited the Eagles two only two shots on target and an expected goals total of only 0.26.
Of course, Dragan Stojkovic’s side have home advantage in Leskovac, but Serbia have scored only three goals in five Nations League games this campaign and that lack of firepower could allow the Danes to strike.
Longshot of the Day
Scotland to beat Poland @ 21/10
Scotland know that they need to beat Poland to have any chance of qualifying for the Nations League quarter-finals and Steve Clarke’s men may just hold up their part of the bargain.
The Tartan Army need three points from the trip to Warsaw and hope that Portugal beat Croatia to make the knockout rounds of the competition and Clarke’s side may just pull off an unlikely qualification.
Croatia were reduced to ten men on Friday and played with credit in a 1-0 defeat for Zlatko Dalic’s side, but the Tartan Army look set to win again with their confidence boosted.
Poland did get the better of the Scots when winning 3-2 at Hampden Park in September, but the Eagles recorded an open-play expected goals figure of only 0.24 and two of their goals came from the penalty spot.
Robert Lewandowski struck from 12 yards in the 97th minute to give Michał Probierz’s men three points in Glasgow, but the Polish captain and record goalscorer is out of Monday’s Warsaw contest.
At 21/10 Scotland look a good bet to leave Poland with three points.
Special of the Day
Northern Ireland to win to nil v Luxembourg @ 39/20
Northern Ireland can secure promotion with a draw or better in Luxembourg and the Green and White Army looks set for a comfortable success.
Michael O’Neill is enjoying his second spell in charge and the former Stoke boss is getting a real tune out of his side.
The Green and White Army beat Belarus 2-0 at Windsor Park last time out and that followed a 5-0 hammering of Bulgaria.
O’Neill’s men have conceded only one goal in their five Nations League group stage games and it’s hard to see lowly Luxembourg breaching a rock-solid Northern Irish defence.
