City Tyres has confirmed a sponsorship package for the upcoming Lugazi Sugar Centenary Golf Tournament.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at the headquarters of the Mandela Group of Companies on Monday.
Herbert Bashasha, City Tyres’ Head of Marketing, revealed the details of the sponsorship package and congratulated SCOUL on reaching its 100th-year milestone.
“We at City Tyres are delighted to support this tournament. This is our third time participating in a golf tournament, and we’re eager to experience the thrill,” Bashasha said.
“We congratulate SCOUL on achieving 100 years. It’s rare for a business or entity to last that long,” he added.
“SCOUL has been our business partner for over 20 years, and we commend their success. I encourage all golfers to come and experience one of the best courses in the country.”
N.J. Paul, Chief Executive Procurement Officer, expressed excitement about hosting the tournament at a new facility that meets the required standards.
“We’re thrilled to hold this tournament at a new facility, which solidifies our growth as an entity. Lugazi is one of the finest courses in Uganda,” he told reporters.
“This event will mark the opening of Africa’s first-ever 700-yard-plus par-5 hole. We’re proud to be part of this significant milestone, and we thank City Tyres for their support,” he added.
City Tyres’ sponsorship package includes all the trophies and prize money that will be awarded to the winners.
The highly anticipated tournament will take place at the 18-hole Lugazi Golf Course from Thursday, November 21st to Saturday, November 23rd.
The event is one of the activities celebrating the 100th anniversary of Lugazi Sugar, which was founded in 1924.
