Vipers SC moved top of the Uganda Premier League log on Friday after overcoming URA FC.
The Venoms showed character right from onset and eventually claimed a 2-0 win thanks to second half goals from captain Milton Karisa and Allan Okello.
URA FC clearly looked out of sorts throughout the game and with several players missing due to injuries, the quality of pitch was telling.
Vipers dominated proceedings but lacked sharpness in front of goal until the second half when they found the breakthrough.
Karisa opened the scores in the 56th minute, scoring from an acute angle when URA FC failed to clear Okello’s initial effort.
Ten minutes later, Karisa turned creator, setting up Okello who headed home from close range to double the lead.
The Venoms eventually saw out the game to claim all three points and go top on 20 points while URA FC remained 10th on 11 points.
