Jasmin De Grugy
Won three in a row this year over hurdles, clearly getting the hang of things having failed to fire on his maiden hurdle debut back in January.
Makes a quick switch to chasing and when that happens it tends to be because the connections and trainer are confident in their ability over fences.
Some horses do make even better chasers and Jasmin De Grugy certainly has the pedigree to suggest he can emulate that.
He’s by Masked Marvel who has produced some great hurdlers like Teahupoo but has also sired Heltenham who has gone well in both hurdles and chasing.
This horse was 150/1 back in December at Chepstow and a similar price next time out a month later and was given a low mark of 73.
Since then and a short break he’s bounced back over hurdles and really relished the step up to 2m4f, taking each rise in the weights comfortably too now rated 108.
Because of his low mark last season he’s able to enter chasing off what should be, far off what he’s capable of and should continue to rise up in the weights provided he does take to chasing straight away.
