Dillian Whyte will look to continue his climb back towards heavyweight title contention when he faces Ebenezer Tetteh next weekend.

‘The Body Snatcher’ has been absent from the top division’s title picture since failing a pre-fight drugs test before his proposed rematch with Anthony Joshua in August 2023.

The fight was cancelled and Whyte was sidelined for a total of 16 months before stopping Christian Hammer in March.

The 36-year-old will now return to Gibraltar – where he avenged his loss to Alexander Povetkin with a fourth-round KO win in 2021.

His next opponent is Ghanian Tetteh, who holds a record of 23-1 (20 KOs), but his sole defeat came in his only fight outside of Africa.

Ironically, it also came at the hands of Whyte’s Brit compatriot Daniel Dubois, who floored him twice en route to his first-round win.

Whyte, 30-3-0, will hope this will be his last tune-up fight before more lucrative opportunities reignite in his career.

Whyte vs Tetteh: What has been said?

During an exclusive interview with talkSPORT, Whyte shared his goal to fight every single major player from his era before he retires.

“I want to get back into tough fights, I’ve always taken tough fights, I don’t want to wait around and have four or five warm-up fights,” he told talkSPORT Fight Night.

“We spoke to DAZN and we came to an agreement to get a quick turnaround.

“The fight was made two weeks ago so I can get out and then next year I’m in the position to chase the big fights.”

“I would love to fight Anthony Joshua again and I’d love to fight Tyson Fury again and I’d love to fight Derek Chisora again,” he added.

“Obviously I’ve avenged one of my losses [against Alexander Povetkin] and I’d love to avenge my losses to Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.”
