Chelsea head into the first midweek round of Premier League matches this season sat joint second in the table after their 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon, sat behind Arsenal on only alphabetical order, still nine points off the pace of league leaders Liverpool.

Chelsea have lost just one of their last nine matches in all competitions, but have lost each of their last two matches against the Saints, though Maresca has beaten Martin in both of their previous meetings, by 5-0 and 4-1 scorelines last season whilst the Italian was in charge of Leicester.
